Commercial law, also known as business law, is the body of law that applies to the rights, relations, and conduct of persons and businesses engaged in commerce, merchandising, trade, and sales.  Commercial law includes within its compass such titles as principal and agent; carriage by land and sea; merchant shipping; guarantee; marine, fire, life, and accident insurance; bills of exchange and partnership. It can also be understood to regulate corporate contracts, hiring practices, and the manufacture and sales of consumer goods.

Business formation issues arise with all new businesses. We can advise you as to the relative merits of many different kinds of organizations, including sole proprietorships, corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies. The manner in which a business is set up can have tax and liability implications and should not be taken lightly. A little bit of counsel at the beginning can solve major problems later on. In these difficult economic times, financing is more of an issue than it has ever been in the past. It is our goal to acquaint our clients with different financing options, including unconventional options, and to advise them regarding the pitfalls of personal guarantees.

In the life of every business, a little litigation must fall. We endeavor to handle all business litigation with a view to the end result. In the end, the costs of litigation and the result thereof either benefit or hurt a business.

It is our goal to devise litigation strategies which reduce the pain and increase the chances of a successful outcome.
